RAVE Foundation Raises More Than One Million Dollars at the Born in ’74 Gala, Announcing a New Commitment to Build 26 Additional Soccer Mini-Fields Throughout Washington Ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026™
RENTON, WASH. – Sounders FC and its charitable partner, RAVE Foundation, celebrated their annual fundraising event, which raised over one million dollars in support of the club’s mission to build 26 small fields for free play by the end of 2026 in historically marginalized communities throughout the State of Washington. Presented by Delta Air Lines, RAVE’s Born in ‘74 Gala was held on Thursday, July 18 at the Providence Swedish Performance Center & Clubhouse in Renton, with more than 600 guests in attendance. At this year’s Gala, RAVE Foundation announced its intention to double the initial goal of building 26 soccer mini-fields to 52 total fields, with the target date of completion in time for FIFA World Cup 2026™.
Motorcyclist doing 120 mph leads Thurston County sheriff's deputies on chase
A motorcycle rider was jailed after embarking on a high-speed chase — think 120 mph — with Thurston County law enforcement, authorities announced Saturday. The Thurston County Sheriff's Office posted bodycam footage of the incident to Facebook just after 11 a.m. Saturday. The post's caption stated that officers tried early Friday morning to stop the speeder, who'd been going 80 mph in a 50-mph zone.

Hit-and-run in Seattle’s Lake City kills one early Monday morning
A man was killed in a hit-and-run in Seattle’s Lake City neighborhood at the intersection of Northeast 125th Street and 30th Avenue Northeast Monday morning. Officers found a 33-year-old man lying in the road when they responded to the crash at approximately 4:45 a.m. Monday. Crews gave him life-saving aid at the scene, but he was pronounced dead before being transported to a local hospital.
