Texas man arrested after alleged sex with horse — again

PHARR, Texas ( KVEO ) — A man accused of having sex with a horse has been arrested a fourth time in Texas.

Cirilo Castillo, 54, was arrested on charges of bestiality and criminal trespass, Hidalgo County Jail records show.

A probable cause affidavit stated that a Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office deputy responded to a residence in Edinburg, Texas, where he met with a woman.

The woman said that at 6:15 a.m., she went out to feed her horses and saw Castillo in the stable.

“She saw Cirilo standing on a chair having sex with her white mare,” the affidavit stated.

According to the document, Castillo has been on the property before and has been advised that he is not wanted there.

“[The woman] has had previous encounters with Cirilo trespassing on her property to have sex with her horse,” the document stated.

Castillo, from Edinburg, Texas, was booked into the Hidalgo County Jail on Tuesday and his bond was set at $70,000.

Previous arrests

In 2013 , Castillo pleaded guilty after having sex with a horse named “India” on video. At the time, former Hidalgo County Sheriff Lupe Trevino said Castillo would continue.

“He is going to continue to do this,” Trevino said. “The people there in the neighborhood are just sick and tired of it, we just need to do something with this.”

In 2015 , Castillo was arrested after attempting to have sex with a horse again. During this incident, he was kicked by the horse and crawled to a barn for shelter. He told authorities that he had been hit by a car.

Most recently, in 2022, Castillo was arrested after a homeowner realized that someone was leaving wooden benches and chairs in their horse stalls. They installed surveillance cameras and noticed someone lying on the floor of the stalls. When they went to the stall, they saw Castillo towards the back of the horse fumbling with his pants, authorities said.

Records show the case has been reset to Aug. 30.
