DC 911 center understaffed 88% of all shifts in July as outages mount
D.C.’s latest 911 outage Friday afternoon was just 20 minutes long, but it was the center’s second outage in as many weeks. According to D.C.’s city administrator, the outage was due to a “connectivity disruption” during which public safety agencies in the nation’s capital “transitioned to manual dispatch.”
New Woodley Park flea market aims for quirky vendors
The flea market will be every Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., on the sidewalk at the corner of Connecticut Avenue and Calvert Street, Northwest. LURAY, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Thanks to Debby, effective immediately, Shenandoah National Park officials have lifted a parkwide fishing closure. A park release says extremely dry conditions and low stream flows prompted the ban June 27. Recent rainfall has improved conditions resulting in lifting the fishing ban. Weather data varied between 4 and 8 inches of precipitation throughout the Park since August 8.
