EDISON, NJ - Residents have set up a GoFundMe page for Carol Luistro , an Edison Township woman who was killed by a downed tree at a campground in Delaware County, New York, according to the Colchester Police Department. The page has a goal of $30,000 to donate to her husband and two teenage sons.

On Saturday, New York authorities say they received numerous reports of trees down at campsites due to a passing storm. They were alerted to an individual trapped in her camper at the Russell Brook Campground, located in Colchester, NY.

According to a press release, Luistro was inside the camper when a large tree fell, striking the camper and pinning her under it. Authorities pronounced her dead at the scene.

“Carol was a beautiful woman with an even more beautiful soul. She was brilliant, caring and funny. She loved her family and friends fiercely and was always looking out for them. At 45 years old, she had so much light and love left to give,” the GoFundMe reads.
