EDISON, NJ - A specialty grocer has purchased the property of the former Sam Ash Music store in Edison for $5.5 million, according to the real estate firm NAI DiLeo-Bram & Co. The 21,929-square-foot property, located at 1825 Route 27, has remained vacant since May.

According to NAI DiLeo-Bram & Co, the grocer is an out-of-state business specializing in “culturally diverse foods.” The new owners plan to establish their flagship store along Route 27 in Edison Township. The firm did not name the buyer of the property.

“Ideally suited for a user/investor, we identified a wide range of potential buyers as part of our customized property offering strategy,” said NAIDB Senior Vice President Marc Shein in a released statement, “Following the competitive bid process, the buyer’s offer was accepted and closed quickly.”

The property is located at a four-way intersection on Route 27 with 64 available parking spaces. The site consists of two buildings, according to NAIDB.
