EDMOND, Okla. ( KFOR ) – An Edmond man was arrested after police said he was stealing his son’s identity and racking up tens of thousands of dollars in credit card debt.

Kevin Morris admitted to Edmond police officers he used his son’s name to open up credit card accounts, starting when his son, Kris, was a teenager.

Kris went to police when he noticed fraud activity and said the cards were opened in his name but linked to his dad’s business address.

Man believed to be breaking into boat docks rescued from Lake Hefner

Morris initially said he used the cards to charge around $10,000 but later admitted to using the accounts to charge $45,000 for his failing business.

Body camera footage showed Morris confessing to the crimes. He was handcuffed and taken to jail. Bond has been set at $100,000.

While talking to the officers, Morris also admitted that this was not an isolated case. He said he also took out credit cards in his daughter’s name, but she did not accumulate any debt.
