Smoky Skies Continue Tuesday With Isolated Storms
TUESDAY AFTERNOON: Wildfire smoke continues to linger with a potential for more smoke to mix down to the surface across eastern ND, leading to more air quality impacts. A mix of sun and clouds with high temperatures in the upper 70s to lower 80s expected today. A few isolated showers will push through our region during the afternoon and evening hours once again that clear out late. Temperatures overnight Tuesday into Wednesday morning dip into the 50s to near 60.
District 12 Democratic-NPL Meet and Greet in Jamestown

Update: man arrested following standoff involving FBI, SWAT at Grand Forks apartment complex
GRAND FORKS, N.D. (Valley News Live) - An hours-long standoff involving Grand Forks Police, the SWAT team and FBI at an apartment complex in Grand Forks has ended. Grand Forks Police say just after 4:30 p.m. on Monday, July 22 they and the FBI were in the 1900 block of 12th Ave. N. looking for 32-year-old Collin Posey who had two Federal warrants and five Grand Forks County warrants. That’s when they saw Posey jump through an open window of a nearby apartment.

Plan For More Wildfire Hazy Through The Week
Fires continue to burn sending wildfire haze across the United States. Monday, July 22 2024 was the first day in Fargo to see thicker surface haze to reduce visibility through the later afternoon and evening. Unfortunately, there are a few more days where surface layer haze will be affecting visibility and air quality across the region. Frankly, fires are not expected to stop anytime soon and haze is likely to funnel across the US through this week and likely the next couple of weeks. Towards the end of this week southerly winds will try to help push some of the smoke out of the area but more is likely to fill back in from fires on the West Coast of the US and the Pacific Northwest.
