    Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office investigating suspicious mobile home fire

    EDWARD, N.C. (WNCT) — The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a mobile home fire that broke out on Sunday.

    Deputies with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office responded to a home on Minor Run Road in Edward regarding an ongoing domestic dispute. When deputies arrived, they discovered a fire inside an unoccupied single-wide mobile home on the property. Assistance from fire departments was then requested.

    While attending to the fire, officials said an aggressive dog approached deputies in a threatening manner and was subsequently tased. The owner was able to secure the dog without further incident. Deputies and fire personnel were able to extinguish the fire. This investigation is still ongoing.
