Domestic Disturbance In Watson Results In SWAT Team Being Called, One Arrested
A domestic disturbance in Watson early Wednesday morning resulted in a SWAT Team being called and one person being arrested. Effingham County Sheriff’s Office reported a domestic disturbance at 200 South Van Buren Street in Watson that involved one female victim and one male aggressor. Officers were made aware of the incident at 1:36am. The victim had left the scene and met officers down the road to give more details. By the time more police arrived at the residence, the suspect had barricaded himself in the house and refused to come out. A SWAT Team was called to the scene and negotiations began around 5:30am. Police were able to talk the individual out of the residence at around 6:08am, where he was subsequently arrested. Nobody was hurt during this incident.
