Hot and dry, gusty winds increase fire weather concerns
WEATHER ALERT DAYS are posted for the Missoula area as hot and dry weather creates critical fire weather conditions this week. Missoula will see high temperatures right around 100 degrees Wed through Sunday! Remember to practice heat safety by staying hydrated and take breaks in the shade if recreating or working outside. Check on the elderly, those susceptible to heat, and protect all animals and livestock during this stretch of hot temperatures. Obey fire restrictions, no open flames or spark, keep vehicles off dry grass, properly dispose of cigarettes, secure your trailer chains, and avoid power equipment that creates a spark.
