    Suspect shoots driver with what appeared to be a BB gun in East County: police

    EL CAJON, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) — A verbal fight between a driver and pedestrian ended with one person being shot by what appeared to be a BB gun in El Cajon Thursday, authorities said.

    As explained by the El Cajon Police Department, a call came in shortly after 1 a.m. with a male victim reporting an incident that occurred at the intersection of Second Street and East Madison Avenue.

    The victim said there was an argument between him and another man who was on foot in the area. The reason for the bickering was not immediately provided by authorities.

    Things then escalated when the man allegedly shot at the victim with what appeared to be a BB gun, police said. The shot shattered his vehicle’s window and hit him in the neck.

    The victim left the scene and drove home before calling authorities. An ambulance responded to the his residence and transported him to a local hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

    The suspect was described by police as a male in his late teens or early 20s. No further descriptions are available at this time.
