Parkers Chapel host 3rd annual Family S.T.E.M. Night

EL DORADO, Ark. (KTVE/KARD) — Parkers Chapel High School hosted its 3rd annual Family STEM night. The word STEM is an acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. The program was started 3 years ago as a part of the “lead the way” project. It is a interdisciplinary approach that allows students to succeed in college if they attend and in their future careers. This created a hands-on approach to learning for students who struggle with the regular curriculum.

The staff in Parkers Chapel really enjoy this program and love seeing the success of their students. They have expanded from 1 simple 9th grade engineering class to several classes for 7th grade and up. The hope is to further expand into elementary school soon.
