El Paso's Chloe Del Real continues to make progress in her quest for soccer stardom.

The Eastlake rising junior has been training with Mexico's U-17 soccer team in Mexico City ahead of two friendlies against Columbia on Monday and Thursday in Mexico.

"I've been fortunate to have this opportunity to continue to grow my game," Del Real said. "There are always new challenges and new opportunities. I have to continue to work hard and get better. I've had some other opportunities to play friendlies against other countries and the opportunities are really amazing to go up against other countries."

Del Real also plays for FC Tucson in Arizona and will be joined by her teammate on that team, Anaiya Miyazato, against Columbia. Del Real is also a dual citizen of Mexico and the United States.

"Having my club teammate with me for Mexico means a great deal. Like me, she has a great passion for the sport," Del Real said. "I have lots of goals in the sport. I always wanted to have this type of chance and I also want to play Division I soccer."

Del Real credits her family's support as a driving factor in her career, including her father Daniel Del Real, mother Cynthia Molinar, and sister Natalia Ortiz. Her sister played soccer at Eastlake as a defender and graduated in 2020.

"All of them have been so supportive and encouraging," Del Real said. "My sister was someone who I learned so much from and has influenced me."

Del Real was a first-team El Paso Times' All-City performer for the Falcons this past season, scoring 13 goals as a midfielder.

"Chloe has so much potential," Eastlake coach Noe Velarde said. "She plays at a high level, but she earns everything due to her work ethic. She puts in the extra time to get better and she sets high standards for herself. We're all very proud of her at Eastlake."
