The newest Burlington store opened on the West Side on Friday, June 28, with a $5,000 donation to Putnam Elementary teachers.
The grand opening took place at 7:45 a.m. with the check presentation at 801 Sunland Park Drive.
The school donation is part of the long-standing partnership between Burlington Stores Inc. and AdoptAClassroom.org . The funds are used to provide students with classroom materials.
This will be the 116th discount retailer in the state. There are more than 1,020 Burlington stores nationwide.
In El Paso, the retailer has been steadily opening new stores in various parts of town since 2018, including the East Side and Northeast in March 2022.
The store's opening included free customer gifts and deals for customers. The store is known for offering brand-name merchandise with up to 60% off other retailers’ prices.
“Our goal is to continue to offer area residents low prices on brand name merchandise for the entire family and home,” said Michael O’Sullivan, CEO, in a news release. "We’re continuing to expand our footprint across the country and are excited to be opening a new store in El Paso. We look forward to giving local customers the chance to discover big savings on a wide range of products.”
Store giveaways for the weekend:
- On Friday and Saturday, June 28-29, following the ribbon-cutting ceremony, the first 100 customers, aged 18 and up, enjoy a $10 Bonus Card to be used toward their purchase.
- On Sunday, June 30, customers will receive a free Burlington umbrella while supplies last; no purchase is necessary.
Store hours: 8 a.m. to 12 a.m. Monday-Saturday, 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday.
