EL PASO, Texas ( KTSM ) — El Paso’s City Council will be holding a series of workshops for discussions of the City’s 2025 Fiscal Year budget.

The first of the special meetings will be starting at 9 a.m. from Monday, July 8 through Wednesday, July 10 at City Hall, located at 300 N. Campbell St.

The proposed preliminary budget property tax rate will be 77.8 cents, presented by Interim City Manager Cary Westin and Chief Financial Officer Robert Cortinas, according to the City in a news release. This year’s budget is four cents less than the current tax rate.

The City budget is set to be in alignment with City Council’s Strategic Plan, response from the City’s Chime-In Survey, community meetings and City Council’s requests, the City said.

    • Investing aggressively in public safety.
    • Investing in improving street infrastructure.
    • Providing exceptional recreational and cultural opportunities.
    • Investing in the retention and recruitment of the workforce.

The Council’s meetings will be lived streamed on the City of El Paso’s YouTube channel and on City TV, that can be found on Spectrum channel 1300 and AT&T U-verse channel 99.
