El Paso police investigate fatal shooting at Gonzalez Place apartments in far East Side

One person was fatally wounded in an early-morning shooting at an apartment complex in far East El Paso, police said.

About 4 a.m. on Saturday, July 20, one person was found fatally wounded in the parking lot after police responded to several call about gunshots at the Gonzalez Place apartments, 4101 Rich Reem Blvd. near Montana Avenue in the El Dorado area, police said.

The victim was a male, but his age was not immediately available, a police spokesman said. There had been no arrests.

The homicide is under investigation by detectives from the Crimes Against Persons Unit and crime-scene investigators with the Criminalistics Unit.

The identity of the person who died, along with other details, have not been disclosed. The investigation continues.
