    1 of 2 Fort Bliss men wounded in Legendz bar shooting has died, El Paso police say

    One of two men from Fort Bliss has died at a hospital after being shot outside an East Side bar, El Paso police officials said late Sunday night about what is now considered a murder investigation.

    The deadly shooting occurred about 12:20 a.m. Sunday, July 21, in the parking lot in front of Legendz Bar & Grill in The Pavillions II retail strip on Zaragoza Road at Vista Del Sol Drive, police officials said.

    The names of the men who were shot have not been released. The victim who died was only described by police officials as a 24-year-old Hispanic man and the other was a 26-year-old Black man. Both were from Fort Bliss.

    The Hispanic man died at a hospital on Sunday afternoon. The second man remains hospitalized in undisclosed condition, police officials said in a news statement.

    There have been no arrests announced and the shooting remains under investigation by homicide detectives with the Crimes Against Persons Unit.

    El Paso bar shooting part of deadly weekend gun violence

    The bar shooting was one of two gun-related homicides in El Paso over the weekend. Both cases remains under investigation.

    About 4 a.m. Saturday, a 24-year-old man was killed in a shooting in the parking lot of the Gonzalez Place apartments, 4101 Rich Reem Blvd. in the El Dorado area of the far East Side. The suspects involved the shooting left in an undisclosed type of vehicle, police said. There have been no arrests.
