EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – Locomotive and United faced off on the pitch Saturday night playing in the Derby Del Camino Real hosted earlier in the year on New Mexico’s home turf, this time around in El Paso.

Arguably this was the largest match of the year for the Locos due to the rivalry, on top of the fact that the Locomotive remain winless at Southwest University Park.

Goalkeeper Jahmali Waite collects a penalty in the early minutes of the match leading to the penalty kick – and the shot perfectly placed into the right side of the net for United will give them the one goal lead.

Francisco Nevarez nails the equalizer in the 21st assisted by Erik Calvillo, his first assist of the season.

Taking shot after shot to close the first half, expectations were high for the Locomotive to open up the second 45 minutes of play strong.

However, the second half of the match continues to be the clubs Achilles heel.

Joaquin Rivas’ tap-in finish would have secured the lead for El Paso, only for the goal the get waved off due to offsides.

United locks things up with a goal in the 68th resulting in the final, 2-1.

Locomotive come up just short once again at Southwest University Park, continuing its winless streak at home.
