Gulf Sterilization Opens In Mobile
Gulf Sterilization has announced the establishment of its business as a contract sterilization provider for medical device manufacturers. It plans to develop an advanced medical device sterilization and decontamination facility at 4345 Halls Mill Road in Mobile to address supply chain and capacity pressures faced by manufacturers. It will utilize chlorine dioxide gas, which it calls an effective and environmentally friendly compound to sterilize medical devices. This project represents a $702,000 capital investment and is to create eight new jobs over the next three years. Gulf Sterilization plans to make improvements to a leased building and purchase equipment to provide its services, as well as conduct research related to the technology. Michelle Scott owns the certified woman-owned small business.

An Alabama State senator was injured Thursday afternoon in personal watercraft accident with his adult son, state police said Friday. Sen. Garlan E. Gudger Jr., 49, of Cullman, was injured Thursday when the 2024 Sea-Doo GTI personal watercraft (PWC) he was operating was struck in the rear by a 2019 Sea-Doo GTI PWC operated by Garlan E. MAAAC Gala To Be Held August 10
The Makos Academics, Arts & Athletics Club (MAAAC), which supports Orange Beach students in their academic, artistic and athletic programs, will hold a fundraising gala on August 10 at the sponsoring Perdido Beach Resort in Orange Beach. The event will celebrate and raise money to support Orange Beach City Schools and MAAAC’s scholarship fund for the city’s high school seniors. Attendees can expect gourmet dining, a silent auction, music and exclusive experiences. Tickets are $50 for educators and city employees and $150 for others.
