SC 16u Wins Perfect Game Gulf Coast Championship
The SC 16u Storm Chasers won the 2024 Perfect Game Gulf Coast Tournament championship in Foley, Alabama with their 9-6 win over the Kentucky Stingers. SC trailed 6-0 after 2 innings but by the fifth inning that had turned to a 7-6 lead. Kohner Depew of Vandalia drove in 4 runs for SC. Brody Collier added 2 RBI and Trevan Sidwell added a run driven in. Hunter Horn (Mater Dei) scored 3 runs, Cody Beard doubled and scored, Braden Rector added a run and Andrew Probst of TTown added a double and 2 runs scored.

(WALA) - Mobile native Paige Madden placed 6th in the finals of the Women’s 400m Freestyle swimming event at the Olympic Games in Paris Saturday. Madden, one of two Americans in the field of eight in Saturday’s event, swam the distance in 4:02.26, coming in 4.77 seconds behind Australia’s Ariarne Titmus.
