Prisma Health and UnitedHealthcare reach new agreement
GREENVILLE, S.C. — Prisma Health says it is back in-network for UnitedHealthcare. Prisma Health and UnitedHealthcare (United) have reached a new multi-year agreement. Officials say the new agreement ensures that Prisma Health hospitals, physician practices, and other health care services are in-network with all United Commercial and Medicare Advantage health insurance plans.

Truck driver killed north of Salem
A semi-trailer truck ran off SC 130 north of Salem, killing the driver. He was 61-year-old Osvaldo Perdomo of Homestead, Florida. Coroner Addis says the Kenworth tractor trailer truck driven by Perdomo overturned and went down an embankment off 130/the Whitewater Falls Road. The 1:50 pm Friday accident occurred near the Cg Roxane Crystal Geyser water plant and the Kenworth had received a load of bottled water for transport.
Northeast Georgia Medical Center facilities gain high honors in emergency nursing coverage
The Northeast Georgia Medical Centers (NGMC) health system is once again receiving high honors for its medical care at a national level. NGMC Braselton and NGMC Lumpkin were recently awarded the 2024 Lantern Award by the Emergency Nurses Association. Northeast Georgia Health System is the first system in Georgia to have four campuses recognized with the award after NGMC Gainesville and NGMC Barrow received the award in 2023.

Lawsuit Accuses State Election Board With Meeting Illegally
A nonprofit nonpartisan watchdog group filed a lawsuit Friday charging the State Election Board with violating Georgia’s Open Meetings Act after meeting last week without legally required public notice or a quorum.
