Local firefighters issue warnings about fireworks ahead of 4th of July holiday
As the 4th of July arrives, so do the reminders on how to use fireworks safely for people to enjoy Independence Day without any danger. According to the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, in 2022, 324 people in Missouri needed hospital care for fireworks related injuries, where 292 were treated in emergency rooms and 32 people were admitted to the hospital.

Leftover change makes one man $1 million richer, after lottery ticket purchase
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - A Missouri man is one million dollars richer thanks to using his spare change to purchase a lottery ticket at a Blue Springs Price Chopper. A man was making a pit stop at a Price Chopper off Highway 7, and decided to get a ticket in the June 15 drawing. The day after the drawing, he checked his ticket when he received a message that he had never seen before.

Gravois Fire Sees Another 36 Calls For Service – YTD Total Over 600 So Far
The Gravois Fire District reports another 36 calls for the week ending this past Saturday. Medical emergency responses dominated the call load with personnel also responding to three fires including providing mutual aid to one residential and one commercial fire. The call load also included three responses to traffic accidents.

Two men are now charged for attempting to break into an ATM, then leading deputies from three counties, including Camden and Dallas, on a high-speed chase. Chauncy Lane and Lonell Lane were taken into custody Tuesday, the same day as the crime.
