Bismarck Man Sentenced For Wrong-Way Crash With State Trooper
(Bismarck, ND) — A wrong-way driver who crashed head-on into a state trooper’s vehicle in Bismarck earlier this year has been sentenced to two years in prison. It happened on U.S. Highway 83, and while trooper William Brown’s patrol car was damaged in the collision, he wasn’t seriously hurt. The driver, identified as Steven Kessel had a blood alcohol level more than three times the legal limit at the time of the crash. He pleaded guilty to criminal vehicular injury and driving on a suspended license, and is required to submit a chemical dependency evaluation and undergo treatment.
