Fire closes U.S. 395 south of Pendleton

PENDLETON – A survey of what Pendletonians want to see happen to the Christian Science building at South Main Street and Southwest Byers Avenue was held during the month of May. Now the results are in and the Christian Science Building Community Outreach Subcommittee will report the results to the Pendleton City Council when it meets at 7 p.m. today (Tuesday). ASOTIN COUNTY, Wash — Level 3 Evacuations, meaning LEAVE NOW, have been issued for a wildfire burning near Cougar Creek in Asotin County. According to the Asotin County Sheriff's Office, Level 3 Evacuations were recommended by DNR for the Cougar Creek Fire. Health officials warn public to avoid North Santiam River due to cyanotoxins
The Oregon Health Authority said Tuesday evening that people should avoid getting in the North Santiam River due to the presence of cyanotoxins. OHA issued a healthy advisory for the North Santiam River from the confluence with the South Santiam River up to the mouth of the Little North Fork Santiam River in Mehama and a precautionary advisory for the North Santiam River from Mehama upstream to and including Big Cliff Reservoir and Detroit Reservoir.

TANGENT, Ore. – Linn County deputies are asking the public for information on the whereabouts of two 14-year-old girls who went missing from Tangent earlier in July. The Linn County Sheriff’s Office said deputies are trying to find Emma and Mary Parmele, 14-year-old twin sisters who deputies said went missing in the week of July 8.
