Drought conditions spread in Ohio, though Northwest Ohio improves
CLEVELAND, Ohio—While some places in Northwest Ohio improved from last week’s dry conditions, more than a quarter of Ohio is now experiencing a moderate drought. Due to below-normal rainfall, southern Ohio counties have now begun experiencing moderate drought, meaning 28% of the state is now experiencing drought conditions, an increase of 21% from the previous week, according to Wednesday’s update from the U.S. Drought Monitor. The data for the update is through Tuesday.

TOLEDO, Ohio — A woman was arrested after police said she drove more than three miles through Toledo with a person on her vehicle's hood Wednesday. Another block added to $6M Perrysburg uptown revitalization project
The entire Perrysburg uptown will get a makeover beginning next year. City council approved adding a third part to the Louisiana Avenue revitalization project at its meeting Tuesday. This adds $1.4 million to the cost, for a total of $6.2 million to $6.5 million for all three phases. Council had already approved doing the 100 and 200 blocks of Louisiana. This week’s action adds the 300 block. The 300 block will undergo improvements first, in 2025. The 100 and 200 blocks will be done in 2026.
American Red Cross is looking for blood donors to help with a critical shortage of blood
LIMA, OHIO (WLIO) - Are you looking for something to do this weekend? How about saving a life. The American Red Cross is in critical need of blood, and they are looking for some hometown heroes to step up and donate. On Saturday, July 6th, at the Allen County Chapter House (610 S. Collett St., Lima), they will be holding a blood drive from 8 a.m. until noon.
