Carter County Mayor Patty Woodby announced Saturday that due to the overabundance of generosity that disaster-relief distribution points have received within the county, all donations need to be taken to Bristol Motor Speedway (BMS) where the county will be requesting items as required.

Bristol Motor Speedway (BMS) has been opened as the Northeast Tennessee Disaster Relief Center in coordination with the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency. It is the home base for recovery efforts and a major donation reception center in the aftermath of the devastating floods. The center is operating from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.

Donors are instructed to designate Carter County as the recipient when taking items to BMS. Any organization in Carter County can call when they need resupply, and the donations can be delivered or picked up. The Disaster Hotline (423) 830-2696 is a unified regional hotline for community members, donors, and national/international organizations seeking information or requiring specific logistical considerations about disaster relief efforts. The hotline is available between 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET.

The City of Elizabethton posted on social media that small-scale donations will still be accepted at the Parks and Recreation Center, 300 W. Mill St. from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

TEMA is working with state and federal partners to establish Multi-Agency Resource Center (MARC) locations in some impacted areas over the weekend to assist survivors with registration and ensure residents can access all available resources to apply for assistance.

The Crisis Clean-Up Hotline, (844) 965-1386, has been established for survivors who need assistance with clean-up efforts. This service is at no cost to the survivors who are requesting assistance.
