Carlee Sullins to graduate from Emory & Henry College with multiple honors and scholarships

Carlee Sullins, of Elizabethton, is set to receive bachelor’s degrees in political science and Hispanic studies with minors in peace & social justice studies and women & gender studies from Emory & Henry College.

Sullins will graduate with the class of 2024. Throughout her academic journey, she has been deeply involved in various campus organizations and activities. She is a member of the dance team, Delta Rho Delta, honors program, Calliopean society, pre-law society, Alpha Psi Omega, Sigma Delta Pi, women student union, Campus Christian Fellowship, girls Bible study, Pi Sigma Alpha, Washington County League of Women Voters, and Virginia Collegiate Honors Council. Additionally, she serves as a blue & gold tour ambassador, new student educator, and president of the Student Government Association.

Reflecting on her time at Emory & Henry, Sullins expressed gratitude for the individualized experience she received. “My experience at Emory & Henry has been individualized which is what I wanted when I came here,” said Sullins. She emphasized the multitude of opportunities available for students from diverse backgrounds and encouraged others to explore different organizations and perspectives on campus.

Sullins credited her success to the support and guidance provided by faculty members Dr. Sarah Fisher and Dr. Kelly Grenier, particularly during the writing of her honors thesis. “Dr. Fisher and Dr. Grenier were encouraging and honest when I needed it the most,” said Sullins. She expressed her intention to maintain supportive relationships with her professors even after graduation.

Following her undergraduate studies, Sullins has been awarded a full academic scholarship to Lincoln Memorial University Duncan School of Law. “Emory & Henry has prepared me for the workforce by helping me receive a full academic scholarship to law school,” stated Sullins. “It is because of my education at Emory & Henry that I was offered this opportunity, and I could not be more thankful for that.”
