    Elizabethton boil water notice lifted for Okolona Estates, surrounding areas

    UPDATE: The boil water notice has been lifted, according to the city .

    ELIZABETHTON, Tenn. (WJHL) – A boil water notice has been issued after a water main break on Tennessee State Route 67A, according to a social media post by the City of Elizabethton.

    Affected areas include Old Buffalo Road, Jewell Street, Jerome Street, Joy Drive, Victor Drive and surrounding areas near Okolona Estates, the post said.

    Residents are encouraged to bring tap water to a rolling boil and allow it to boil for one minute before letting it cool. Boiling water is not necessary for washing clothes, bathing or washing dishes.

    Crews are working to repair the water main break.
