    Postseason soccer overview

    ELIZABETHTOWN – The East Bladen Lady Eagles drew the number-six seed in the NCHSAA 1A State Playoffs for the East Region and they’ll take on the 27th-seeded Cape Hatteras Hurricanes on Monday. The Lady Eagles will go into the playoffs with a potent attack at 63 goals and a stout defense that’s only allowed 12 goals throughout the regular season. They have 10 shutout victories out of 17 games on the year and their midfield is anchored by senior Heidi Rebollar in the center of the park.

    The top-seeds in the 1A East Region is number-one seed Voyager with a 13-2 overall record and the number-two seed is Woods Charter with a record of 17-4-1. The top-seeds out West goes to number-one seed Mountain Island Charter with an 15-3 overall record and the number-two seed goes to Polk County with an overall record of 11-4-3.

    Pender drew the 28th-seed and they will travel away to the fifth-seeded Falls Lake Firebirds to open up their postseason campaigns. East Columbus will also represent the Waccamaw 1A Conference as the 19th-seed and they’ll travel away to the 14th-seeded River Mill Jaguars.

    The Waccamaw Conference champs, Heide Trask drew the number-nine seed in the NCHSAA 2A Playoffs East Region and they’ll play their first round game against 24th-seeded Nash Central on Monday. SAC 6 Conference champions, Clinton was the only team out of the Southeastern Conference to make the playoffs and they drew the number-ten seed in the East Region. The Lady Darkhorses’ will host the 23rd-seeded North Pitt Panthers for their opening round.

    The top-seeds in the 2A East Region went to (1) Franklin Academy and (2) Monteo; the top seeds in the 2A West Region went to (1) Pine Lake Prep and (2) Hendersonville.
