Project Construction affecting 15th Street, Margaret Avenue, and Thomas Lane starting July 29
We are writing to inform you about an upcoming construction project that will impact the area around 15th Street, Margaret Avenue, and Thomas Lane. The City of Coeur d’Alene has selected Alpine Northwest to install a new 16-inch transmission main along 15th Street from Margaret Avenue to Thomas Lane, continuing east outside the City limits to a proposed new 1-million-gallon water reservoir. This process will include the excavation of asphalt & material to install the new water line while utilizing heavy equipment. Dust mitigation will be consistently monitored and knockdown as needed. Materials will be laid out throughout the project as it moves forward.
City of Soap Lake reports sewage leak near beach
SOAP LAKE - A sewage spill near Soap Lake's West Beach happened on Saturday, according to the city's mayor. Mayor Allen DuPuy received a call at 4:04 PM, alerting him that effluent was emerging from a manhole cover near the men's restroom at West Beach. He immediately contacted Public Works Supervisor Darrin Fronsman and staffer Colton Keeler, who were already informed of the situation by an alert citizen enjoying the day at the beach.

MOSES LAKE - A 24-hour manhunt came to an end today as Sheriff's Deputies apprehended a man who had evaded capture since Monday morning. The suspect was located by a property owner around 11 a.m. hiding in a shop in the zero block of Road R-SE near Moses Lake, just south of Baseline in the southeast quadrant of the county, approximately 18 miles east of Division.
