Cal Fire works to contain 30-acre fire near Cottonwood, evacuation warnings lifted
COTTONWOOD, Calif. — Cal Fire is currently at the scene of a vegetation fire burning up to 30 acres south of Cottonwood, according to Cal Fire's Tehama-Glenn Unit. The fire ignited in the area of southbound Interstate 5 and Bowman Road at around 3 p.m. on Wednesday. The fire forced two evacuation warnings in the area, however, by 3:45 p.m., all evacuations were lifted.
Pedestrian in critical condition after being hit by vehicle in Chico
CHICO, Calif. — The Chico Police Department (CPD) says that there was a vehicle versus pedestrian crash in Chico on Wednesday that has left one in critical condition. CPD says that around 12:41 p.m. officers were dispatched to the intersection of E. 12th Street and Park Avenue for a vehicle versus pedestrian collision.
