Spectrum’s Addison Wallschlaeger throws no hitter

Addison Wallschlaeger came within one fielding error of throwing a perfect game on April 11 in Spectrum’s home opener.

Wallschlaeger completed a no-hitter, striking out 13 of the 22 batters she faced against conference rival West Lutheran (1-1, 0-1) as the Sting advanced to 5-0 on the season and 2-0 in conference play.

Wallschlaeger’s sister, Reagan Wallschlaeger, threw a no-hitter last season.

Behind Addison Wallschlaeger, Ava Kirkpatrick led the defense with six outs.

On offense, Addison Wallschlaeger went one for two with a walk, two runs and two RBIs. Reagan Wallschlaeger went two for three with one run and two RBIs and Isabella Colbert went two for three with two doubles and two runs.

Next up for the Sting will be a home game on Saturday, April 20, at 9 a.m. at Spectrum Athletic Complex against Maranatha (3-0, 3-0).
