Art students and their families packed into the board room at the District 728 Offices on Monday, May 13, to be recognized for artwork that will line the walls of the building for the coming school year.

Leah Schultz, art specialist at Twin Lakes Elementary School, organizes the program each year with the help of her colleagues, including Elk River High School art teacher Damien Husien, who put together a video presentation for members of the Elk River Area School Board and audience members.

Schultz called the night students’ time to shine and a huge honor for more than three dozen students who have had their works of art selected.

Art specialists called up students two at a time to present them with certificates of recognition. This year, an Online 728 student was also selected and recognized.
