Zimmerman City Administrator Randy Piasecki has reported that the city will be working with T-Mobile to renew its lease and keep a cell tower going.

T-Mobile is leasing a 90-foot by 90-foot piece of property on which it owns the cell tower and equipment. The current lease is for 25 years, and has three years remaining. T-Mobile is hoping for another 25-year lease.

Piasecki said that the city gets about $24,000-$25,000 yearly under the current terms.

The city will be discussing the terms with T-Mobile and possibly changing some items and requirements, Piasecki said. He will bring further updates to the City Council in future meetings.
