Area breweries win awards in taste test competition
Two area breweries have won awards in the MN Brewers Cup, which is a state-wide, blind taste-test competition. Nearly 450 beers were entered from more than 90 Minnesota breweries and brewpubs and organized into 23 categories. Area winners were: • Hard Seltzer category: First Place: Sunken Ship Brewing Company, Princeton, Minimum Wake • Spice, Herb, and Vegetable Beers category: Second Place: Lupulin Brewing Company, Big Lake, Doppelbock.
Everbrook Academy daycare planned for vacant site in Otsego
A day care called Everbrook Academy is in the works for a vacant lot in Otsego. Oppidan Holdings, of Excelsior, has proposed the 11,700-square-foot day care and adjoining playground area on a site that is located south of 87th Street and west of Parson Avenue, near Wings Financial and Tires Plus. The Otsego City Council approved several items related to the proposal unanimously on March 25, including a preliminary and final plat, a PUD Development Stage Plan for a day care facility and a development contract.
