Update: Subject sought in April 1 stabbing in Elk River taken into custody
The Elk River Police Department has learned that the subject in a stabbing was taken into custody by the Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office after the subject's vehicle was spotted at the Brainerd Welcome Center at 7393 MN-371 S in Brainerd, MN. Parade of Homes is on through April 7
New homes throughout the greater Elk River area are being featured in the spring Parade of Homes. There are models to tour in Big Lake (three), Dayton (13), Elk River (two), Nowthen (one), Otsego (10), Ramsey (seven), Rogers (12) and Zimmerman (two). Homes are open from noon to 6 p.m. Fridays through Sundays through April 7. Guidebooks are available at Holiday Stationstores or at paradeofhomes.org. There are a total of 386 homes across the Twin Cities metro area in the parade with prices starting at $316,990.

Area breweries win awards in taste test competition
Two area breweries have won awards in the MN Brewers Cup, which is a state-wide, blind taste-test competition. Nearly 450 beers were entered from more than 90 Minnesota breweries and brewpubs and organized into 23 categories. Everbrook Academy daycare planned for vacant site in Otsego
A day care called Everbrook Academy is in the works for a vacant lot in Otsego. Oppidan Holdings, of Excelsior, has proposed the 11,700-square-foot day care and adjoining playground area on a site that is located south of 87th Street and west of Parson Avenue, near Wings Financial and Tires Plus. The Otsego City Council approved several items related to the proposal unanimously on March 25, including a preliminary and final plat, a PUD Development Stage Plan for a day care facility and a development contract.
Joyful exchange at Guardian Angels thanks to NHS students
Xander Schmig and Nolan Cramer, members of Elk River High School’s National Honor Society, reached out to Guardian Angels recently hoping to do a service project. Working with the staff at Guardian Angels they decided to make and deliver Easter gifts to residents at Guardian Angels by the Lake in Elk River and Riverview Landing in Otsego. It was a joyful experience for both the students and Guardian Angel’s residents.
