Erbert and Gerbert’s gets go-ahead in Otsego
A conditional use permit amendment to allow an Erbert and Gerbert’s sandwich shop to locate inside the Otsego Coborn’s store has been approved by the Otsego City Council. The City Council voted March 11 to approve the amendment to allow a convenience food restaurant with drive-through service. The measure passed 5-0 without discussion as part of the council’s consent agenda. Erbert and Gerbert’s is planned for the space inside Coborn’s that was previously occupied as a pharmacy. The pharmacy closed recently, merging with neighboring Coborn’s pharmacies in Albertville, Big Lake, Elk River and Ramsey. Coborn’s has said that the restaurant will feature dine-in, pick-up, and drive-through services.
728 Cadets, SOAR get $10,000 grants
The Central Minnesota Arts Board has awarded 16 Community Arts Support Grants totaling $137,128, including grants to two local organizations. 728 Cadets Marching Arts and SOAR Regional Arts each received $10,000 grants. The Central Minnesota Arts Board program provides grants for administration, operations, equipment purchases, and to improve access and outreach to underserved groups. These unrestricted grants are awarded to nonprofit arts organizations that demonstrate efficient management and high-quality artistic programming.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension identified the motorist who was fatally shot by a Wright County Sheriff’s Office deputy in St. Michael on March 2 after leaving his vehicle holding a weapon during a traffic stop.
