Derry, Cedar Valley Begins National Cup Tournament
Cedar Valley, a club soccer team in Iowa, will begin the National Cup Tournament in Denver today with a former Pierre Governor looking to win a national championship. Rylan Derry, one of the two most decorated soccer players in Pierre Governor soccer history, and currently is at Grand View University in Des Moines, Iowa, will be on the Cedar Valley team. Derry finished his high school career with the most career goals at 38 and most career assists at 25. He also had 19 of his 38 goals in his senior year for the Governors. Gov. Reynolds Issues Disaster Proclamation for Five Counties in Response to Severe Storms
DES MOINES – Gov. Kim Reynolds has issued a disaster proclamation for Des Moines, Dubuque, Mitchell, Polk and Scott Counties in response to severe storms that occurred on July 15 and continuing. The governor’s proclamation allows state resources to be utilized to respond to and recover from the effects of this severe weather and activates the Iowa Individual Assistance Grant Program and Disaster Case Advocacy Program.
