Diboll woman gets 10 years for 2019 crash that killed passenger
LUFKIN, Texas (KTRE) - A Diboll woman arrested in 2019 for intoxication manslaughter received 10 years’ confinement Thursday. Kila Leann Janes, 28, was charged with intoxicated manslaughter with a vehicle and intoxicated assault with a vehicle after the May 7 death of her passenger, Clinton Earl Holman. On Thursday, Judge Robert K. Inselmann sentenced Janes to 10 years in jail.

According to the Austin-American-Statesman, poisonous hammerhead worms are on the rise in Texas thanks to Hurricane Beryl, heavy rainfall, and the tropical climate they thrive on. The hammerhead flatworms which can grow up to 15 inches long have been popping up all around the Houston-Galveston area. They can emerge on sidewalks, driveways, patios, and areas with lots of soil.

Farmer Dies in Suspected Killer Bee Attack Near Huntsville, Texas
Bryce Harold Smith, 75, passed away on Wednesday, July 23, after being stung by numerous bees. The attack happened on the man's property just south of Bedias, Texas. According to a report from KCTV-5, Smith was stung approximately 60 times around the face and neck area.
