On April 30, Grace Clinic of Yadkin Valley, in collaboration with Hugh Chatham Health and Foundation For The Carolinas, hosted a mammogram clinic.

There were 15 uninsured patients provided with a free screening mammogram.

Grace Clinic is a free, nonprofit medical home for uninsured/underinsured, low-income, and Medicaid/Medicare patients. Grace Clinic patients who were seen at this mammogram clinic were well past due for their screening mammograms due to lack of health insurance. Some had never had a mammogram before.

Katie Carter, Community Health Worker at Grace Clinic, said, “We are blessed at Grace Clinic to provide our patients with this service – one that could save a life. We would like to extend our gratitude to Hugh Chatham Health and Foundation For The Carolinas for partnering with us to create a healthier community.”

"It is such an honor to be a part of this group whose passion is serving others. Mammograms have been proven to be up to 87% effective in diagnosing breast cancers and we are now able to offer this to 15 women who may not get it otherwise," added LeeAnn Baker, LPN at Grace Clinic.

Grace Clinic is accepting new patients. For more information call 336-835-1467.
