2026 DB Omari Bledsoe talks West Virginia, visit plans
Murfreesboro (Tn.) Oakland 2026 cornerback Omari Bledsoe has several schools standing out at this stage but knows one for sure will be getting a visit this fall. Bledsoe, 6-foot-4, 180-pounds, has collected offers from West Virginia, TCU, Michigan State, Miami (Fla.), Kansas and several others but has a few schools out of that list sticking out.

Italian Heritage Festival Announces 45th Annual Event Lineup led by Former Journey Singer Steve Augeri
The West Virginia Italian Heritage Festival will be holding its 45th annual event this coming Labor Day weekend on the streets of downtown Clarksburg. Recently, the Festival announced the lineup for the Main Stage, which is situated on the Harrison County Courthouse Plaza. As is always the case, the entertainment is free and there is no admission charge.

Dr. Mary Mikowski, the medical director of Health Access, Inc, in Clarksburg, has retired from her position after working in various capacities. with the facility for decades. Mikowski has been a volunteer at Health Access for many years. She has served as a volunteer physician, a board member, and, most recently, the medical director for Health Access.
2026 TE McCutchan set for West Virginia visit after offer
Cincinnati (Oh.) Moeller 2026 tight end Cooper McCutchan holds an offer from West Virginia and now plans to take a visit to campus this week. McCutchan, 6-foot-4, 215-pounds, had been in contact with the Mountaineers coaching staff for quite some time but things picked up considerably of late when he was able to speak with tight ends coach Blaine Stewart.

Fairmont State University has plans for nearly $7 million in congressional directed spending
FAIRMONT, W.Va. — Fairmont State University will receive $6.89 million in federally directed spending to go towards three improvement projects. The offices of U.S. Senators Joe Manchin and Shelley Moore Capito announced that the university will receive Congressionally Directed Spending (CDS) funds to support upgrades to the nursing program facilities, library renovations, and campus security system improvements.
Area-Wide Rain Showers and Storms Return Tomorrow
BRIDGEPORT, W.Va (WDTV) - As the area remains under drought conditions, partial relief is on the way in the form of showers and thunderstorms throughout the start of the week. Non-severe showers and storms arrive later in the morning tomorrow and will continue into the early afternoon. Man faces murder charges after a body was discovered in Vienna, police say
VIENNA, W.Va. (WCHS) — A body was discovered in Wood County on Saturday evening that kicked off a murder investigation and an arrest, police say. Reports came in just before 4:30 p.m. of an unresponsive person in an apartment on the1200 block of 19th Street. Upon arrival, Vienna police discovered a deceased female, Morgan Lee Lott, 22, and began collecting evidence and interviews.
