Worker identified in deadly accident at GE Appliances plant in Decatur
DECATUR, Ala. — Work has stopped at the GE Appliances plant in Decatur after a worker was killed Wednesday, according to NBC affiliateWAFF. The incident, which has been ruled an accident, happened before 9:30 a.m. Rodney Terry, 58, of Town Creek, was killed, according to the Morgan County Coroner.

Days of rain bring drought improvements
There have been ten consecutive days of recorded rainfall in Huntsville. These days of beneficial rainfall have led to drought improvements in our region. The drought conditions across the Tennessee Valley have improved some thanks to recent rainfall. Fewer areas are experiencing extreme drought conditions, with much of the area now experiencing moderate drought.
Shoals man pleads guilty to murder
TUSCUMBIA, Ala. (WAFF) - A Muscle Shoals man who was facing a capital murder charge pleaded guilty to murder in exchange for a life sentence with the possibility of parole. According to our news partners at the Times Daily, Laventrice Johnson entered the plea to avoid the death penalty or life in prison without parole. He pleaded guilty on Tuesday.
