Remember when you were a kid and returning to school was one of the more dreaded things ever? At least, if you weren't growing up in Las Vegas. The summers were awesome and we had fun-filled days by the pool. It was the perfect escape in the Midwest, where children didn't have to worry about their bills, mortgage, or other adult responsibilities.

Hard Rock to donate artifacts from The Mirage to Las Vegas’s Neon Museum
Hard Rock International will donate several artifacts from the Mirage Hotel and Casino to the Neon Museum in Las Vegas. The donation is in collaboration with the PENTA Building Group, the general contractor selected to do most of the demolition of the iconic Strip resort that closed Wednesday. Penta will also handle the majority of construction, scheduled for completion in 2027.
Eagles Add Four More Shows to Las Vegas Sphere Residency
Due to overwhelming demand, Eagles have added four more dates to their upcoming residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas. The new dates are scheduled for Jan. 17, 18, 24 and 25 of 2025. Pre-sales will begin July 23, followed by regular sales on July 26. Tickets will start at $175 and will reflect all-in pricing.

Reno firefighters responded to a water leak. The leak was on the fourth floor of a retirement home. Firefighters say they stayed on scene to help mitigate the problem and make sure power was turned off. They also say several residents were displaced.

Las Vegas A's have no one to pay for their new ballpark. Literally
The Oakland A's are expected to move to Las Vegas to begin the 2028 season. When that time comes, they'll need to have a new stadium. About that... While this will hopefully bring some exciting new changes to the franchise, the organization had a presentation earlier this week for the new stadium that didn't go so well. At the presentation, the A’s confirmed there are currently no financing plans for a proposed $1.5 billion ballpark in Las Vegas, per Scott Roeben from Vital Vegas. This should raise some concern for the franchise and its fans.

Starring Glen Powell and Daisy Edgar-Jones, we follow a story very close to the original Twister film that starred Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton. This time around, though, we follow a woman who has lost a lot and a man who wrangles tornados for digital views. And while this film's story isn't really new, the movie is still a fun ride with a lot of personality. Grade B from me.

General Motors has been selling Suburbans since 1935, outlasting the DeSoto Suburban, the Nash Ambassador Suburban and the Plymouth Fury Suburban. These days, the US-market GMC-branded twin to the Chevrolet Suburban wears Yukon XL badging, but GMC Suburbans were sold here from 1937 through 1999. Today's Junkyard Gem is a four-wheel-drive example of the very successful 1973-1991 Suburban generation, found in a car graveyard just outside of Reno, Nevada.
