Orioles Jackson Holliday stubbornness could cost them Tarik Skubal and more
The Baltimore Orioles are off to a rollicking start at the trade deadline, adding Tampa Bay Rays pitcher Zach Eflin to supplement an injury-stricken rotation. Pitching is the primary area of need for Baltimore, and there's still plenty of room to upgrade the roster. The O's have no shortage of quality prospects at their disposal, to the point where Baltimore can outbid any MLB team if their will is strong enough.
Ravens WR Rashod Bateman ‘excited’ to see Mark Andrews, Isaiah Likely together in action
The Baltimore Ravens have one of the best (if not the best) tight-end groups in the NFL. Led by Mark Andrews, the unit helps pace Baltimore’s offense, which also includes Isaiah Likely and Charlie Kolar. Likely has been an extremely pleasant surprise for the Ravens, as he’s stepped in for Andrews the last two years after the veteran was lost due to injury. However, wide receiver Rashod Bateman is excited to see the two together in action, as they have yet to do so over the course of their careers consistently. “I’m excited to see what it looks like. I don’t really know either. You have this guy, you have this guy, you have that guy, and at the end of the day, you have Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry, so I’m kind of like everybody else. I’m just excited to watch it.” Andrews and Likely have incredible skill sets that can feed off each other. The duo should have no problem co-existing, and quarterback Lamar Jackson should thoroughly enjoy throwing to both.

Ravens TE coach calls Mark Andrews a positionless player
Tight end is a very unique position in football, because it’s a hybrid of the position group comprised of the heaviest guys (offensive linemen, where size matters the most) and the position group consisting of the lightest guys (wide receivers, where speed counts the most) on the field. A tight end needs top-end speed and massive size, which can be challenging. So if you have a so-called “position-less player,” he would likely be in the tight end group. “@Mandrews_81’s a positionless player.” Tight ends coach Godsey pic.twitter.com/UDYVpMlWWi — Baltimore Ravens (@Ravens) July 27, 2024 Tight ends coach George Godsey has declared starting TE Mark Andrews a “position-less player,” and yes, it’s a compliment. “He gets it, and he’s capable of many things,” Godsey said of Andrews. “He’s a position-less player, and that’s how we talk about the room. We play outside, and we play inside in the slot. “We play attached; we have a lot of different roles. All those guys are capable, and Mark leads the group: him and Pat (Ricard).” Positionless basketball is all the rage on the hardwood right now. Will this ideology make the transition from the court to the gridiron? Maybe, but most likely not, given the advanced-level schematics and complicated strategies involved in football.
