Illegally possessed guns recovered in Saginaw by MSP, man arrested
SAGINAW, Mich. -A 24-year-old man, who is on probation for drug offenses, has been arrested & lodged in the Saginaw County Jail after Michigan State Police recovered several illegally possessed guns following the execution of search warrants this week. The warrants were issued following a citizen complaint, according to MSP.

Bay City’s first-ever disc golf course now open
BAY CITY, Mich. (WNEM) - A Bay City park is now home to the city’s first disc golf course. The Bay City Department of Public Works announced on Wednesday, Aug. 28, the Ted Putz Nature Area now houses a disc golf course that is designed for all ages and all skill levels.
Crash, possible shooting in Saginaw leaves one person dead
SAGINAW, Mich. (WJRT) - Police are investigating a suspicious death a few blocks away from downtown Saginaw. West Nile Pops Up In Genesee County
West Nile Virus has been detected in a bird for the first time this year and was diagnosed in a human in Genesee County. Officials conducting routine testing in the month of August detected the viurus in a bird in Flushing. According to the county health department, the detection of the virus in birds notes the importance they play in amplifying it in nature. Health department officials say its common for a few individuals to contract the virus. Symptoms of West Nile Virus include fever, chills, muscle aches, and in rare cases, brain inflammation which can be lethal.

Vienna Township considers special land use request for music venue with campground
VIENNA TWP., MI -- The owner of a music venue and campground hopes to continue operating in Vienna Township, but first, the township will have to sign off on their plans. The Vienna Township Planning Commission voted 5-1 on Monday, Aug. 26, to postpone the township’s consideration of a request from the owner of the Shire Outdoor Music Venue for a special land use permit for a music venue and a campground on a 21-acre property located at 4121 W. Dodge Road in Vienna Township, which is currently zoned for agricultural and residential use.
$3.75M worth of cocaine seized at Blue Water Bridge
PORT HURON, Mich. – Customs and Border Protection officers seized $3.75 million worth of cocaine at the Blue Water Bridge early Wednesday morning (Aug. 28). Just before 3:30 a.m., officers were inspecting vehicles entering into Canada when they selected Iqbal Singh Virk and Ranjit Singh Rowal for an inspection. The two Canadian residents were in a truck that was pulling a trailer.
