Rutland is one of Vermont's largest cities. But, compared to many cities, it's still a small town. This gives it the best of both worlds for those traveling to this area.

Visit Pine Hill Park in Rutland

Pine Hill Park is located in the northwest section of Rutland. It's made up of 325 acres of forest and has 17 miles of trails. This means it's an ideal stop for biking, hiking, running, snowshoeing, or even geocaching. You can visit the park year-round so plan on enjoying all four seasons at this outdoor location.

The Paramount Theatre in downtown Rutland

If you're hoping to take in a show while you're visiting, make sure that you stop by The Paramount Theatre. This location has shown a variety of different types of entertainment from Howie Mandel, Blues Traveler, and movies on the big screen. Plus, they host a variety of local events you won't want to miss.

The Chaffee Art Center contains not only an art gallery with new exhibits but also hosts the Art in the Park event each year. In the summer and fall, visits can stop by this festival that has exhibits from juried artists, craftspeople, and even local food producers. Vermont Truffle Company

What would a vacation be without chocolate? Stop by the Vermont Truffle Company located in Rutland Vermont on Center STreet to sample their homemade truffles. They have many flavors to choose from but a few of my favorites are the Salted Caramel Truffle and the Vermont Maple Truffle. Pick up a 4 piece box to go.

    Year-Round Farmer's Market

No matter when you stop to visit Rutland Vermont, you should plan on stopping at the farmer's market. During the warmer months, this is located right in the downtown area in Depot Park. The roads are barricaded to make shopping easier. During the off-season months, you can find it at the Vermont Farmers Food Center on West Street.

While you're there, look for vegetables, baked goods, maple syrup, jewelry and crafts, and lots more. During the summer, you can often find plants for your garden or fresh-cut flowers for your dining room table. There really is something for everyone.

Youre right, my mistake. I was looking at a hike through the green mountains, I'm not sure how I ended up commenting on this article 🤷‍♀️.These are fun outings, definitely dont cost that amount. I've been to most of these places and they are all great for families and dont cost to much. I recommend any of these outings for families.

Yeah, I'd say the same thing. $1,500. for two people? Maybe there are some rich folks out there who'd pay it. It does sound like a nice relaxing adventure for a newly wed or retired couple looking for some nice athletic, quiet time. But not for $1,500.
