    Vermont Foodie Experiences

From gourmet meals and pure maple syrup to artisan cheeses and ice cream factory tours, you will never run out of ideas for things to do in Vermont. Here are just a few of my favorites.

    Shore Acres Inn & Restaurant

Enjoy a gourmet meal in a picturesque Vermont inn, located on the shore of Lake Champlain. Relax after your meal with a bike ride along the Lake Champlain Bikeways Network. Or, take a hike along one of the hiking trails and enjoy the quiet.

This will be a gorgeous spot once the leaves start to change color this fall.

    Toby's Treats Ice Cream

Make your way to the Franklin County Covered Bridges in Saint Albans where you can explore some of Vermont's 40 covered bridges on a self-guided driving tour. And, don't miss a stop for ice cream after your tour. Toby’s Treats is famous for having over 100 delicious flavors of creemees that will satisfy the pickiest of children and tantalize adults with the variety on the list.

    Mad River Valley Farmers Market

Spend an afternoon at the Mad River Valley Farmers Market in Waitsfield sampling the many kinds of cheese available. Sample from Vermont Creamery, Jasper Hill Farm, North Meadow Farm, and more.

Visit some of the cheesemakers on the Vermont Cheese Trail while you're there.

    Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream

Take a tour of Ben & Jerry's in Waterbury, Vermont. You'll get to see how they make ice cream, check out the flavor graveyard. And, you can buy all kinds of goodies to show your support for sustainable business practices.

Tours are currently closed until November. Be sure to mark your calendar to make this a stop once they are back open again.

Vermont could be the perfect place for spring or summer getaway foodies given its scenic beauty and plethora of options. Spring/summer visitors can check out farms, farmer's markets, unique hotels with culinary themes. Or, enjoy a day trip to Ben & Jerry’s factory in Waterbury and Cabot cheese outlet near Waterbury (both popular Vermont destinations).
