POUGHKEEPSIE – A 38-year-old man who was shot by a City of Poughkeepsie cop after he pointed a gun at the officers, was sentenced to 10 years in prison on Tuesday. Leopoldo Duarte Palacios was scheduled to go to trial in April before changing his plea to guilty of criminal possession of a weapon at a pre-trial conference before Dutchess County Court Judge Edward McLoughlin.
