ELLINGTON, Conn. (WTNH) — Connecticut State Police troopers are searching for a suspect they say impersonating an Amazon delivery driver while actually stealing a package from a home last week.

Troopers said the suspect appeared outside a home on Pinnacle Road about two minutes after a FedEx driver dropped off three iPhone 15 Max’s on Tuesday.

A man exited the passenger side of a white midsize SUV- possibly a BMW- which parked at the bottom of the home’s driveway.

Wearing black pants, a black hoodie, a blue Amazon-issued vest, and a surgical mask, the man approached the home with a cellphone in one hand and an empty box in the other.

Police said he left the empty box on the porch and instead grabbed all three phones from the porch before running to the car and fleeing south on Pinnacle Road.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect is asked to contact Officer Bart Alexander of the Ellington Police at 860-875-1522.
