BRIMLEY, MI — Jason Smith and Simon Freeman dragged a long green seine net through the Whitefish Bay shallows and began to survey their catch. Sifting through the net, the two Bay Mills tribal biologists picked out multiple small silvery minnows; juvenile whitefish sheltering in the shallows. A number of Michigan university medical schools were featured in this year’s U.S. News & World Report rankings, with a notable exception. The rankings released Tuesday, July 23, do not include the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, which ranked No. 17 in the nation in the 2023 rankings. This different upper-air flow is going to bring air from western Canada overhead of Michigan in the next week. That area of Canada has large wildfires going now.
